Math 10 - Significant Digits Review

Rule: When adding or subtracting, your answer can only show as many decimal places as the measurement having the least number of decimal places. Round according to the rule.

e.g. 4.64 + 3.2 = 7.84 = 7.8
(2 decimal places) + (1 decimal place) = (1 decimal place)

e.g. 15.8 x 12.78 = 201.924 = 202
(3 significant digits) x (4 significant digits) = (3 significant digits)
